New Foods Make An Easy Low Carb Meal Or Snack

These days an easy low carb meal or snack is as close as your corner grocery store!

Just a couple of years ago, the choices for packaged foods were limited but today a quick and easy low carb diet meal plan simply takes a trip to the store. Many of the food manufacturers have jumped on the bandwagon and are now producing low carb versions of your favorite foods.

But how do you know if they taste any good?

One way to avoid wasting money on packaged low carb foods for easy meals is to check my food reviews page to see if we’ve tried it yet. We have dozens of foods listed and will tell you the real scoop on how they taste – and believe me some of them are real dogs! Some of the foods we’ve reviewed include the low carb versions of: bagels, breads, milk, candy, cereal, pasta, snacks and drinks.

If you come across a new low carb meal or food and haven’t heard any reviews on it yet, buy the smallest size possible – don’t go overboard and stock up just because it sounds good or looks good on the package. You can always go back for more later on if it pans out.

Packaged Foods Make For An Easier Low Carb Diet

Let’s face it, low carb can get kind of boring and everyone deserves a treat now and then. Of course, we favor eating natural (and organic when you can) foods and plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables but sometimes you long for the ease of opening up a snack without going through a lot of prep work and packaged foods offer just that.

Make Your Low Carb Meals Easier

The introduction of low carb breads has made meal time much easier for me. There’s a great whole wheat wrap that has only 5 grams net carbs and is perfect for any kind of sandwich. Remember when you used to have to use a lettuce leaf to hold your tuna or turkey? Well not anymore with this wonderful and tasty wrap! ,/p>

Plus you can use it for so many things – is your family sending out for pizza but you can’t eat it – not anymore! Now you can simply scrape off the pizza cheese, sauce and toppings and stick it in the wrap! How about subs like those delicious steak and cheese – just order them at the sub shop on a wrap and then transfer the fillings of the sub into your low carb wrap (or better yet, maybe you can get the sub guy to just put the filling inside your wrap?).

Regular low carb bread is a wonderful addition, especially to the breakfast meal. Now you can sop up those egg yolks with a slice of whole wheat and only spend 6 grams of your carb budget. You can buy this bread already made in most grocery stores which is much easier than baking from a mix – and you might even be able to use it during the induction phase!

And the best new (in my opinion) low carb food is milk! Hood has come out with a dairy drink that gives you the taste of creamy milk and it comes in regular and chocolate! Read more about this amazing drink that has only 3 grams carbs on our low carb milk page.
