Is Food High In Protein A Magical Diet Pill?

Many diet gurus would have you believe that food high in protein is some sort of magical diet pill that will melt the pounds away.
Is there some truth to this? Millions have found success in weight loss while following low carb diets like the Atkins Diet, Zone Diet, and South Beach Diet which base their meals on high protein foods. Basically, these diets work on the idea that eating carbohydrates raise your blood sugar levels and cause weight gain, therefore they limit the amount of carbohydrates consumed in each meal or snack. Physiologically, there is some truth to this and in fact, I can attest that eating too much sugar can have an addictive effect.
In addition to eating foods high in protein, removing foods high in sugar and white flour have a positive effect on weight loss.
These foods such as pasta, cakes, snacks have little nutritional value and are really just a burden on the body as it tries to digest this food without gaining any vitamins or nutrients. When you eliminate them, your body can run smoother - you feel better and get healthier and you eat less calories.
So, just what are these magical high protein foods?

All fish
All shellfish
Low carb high protein veggies
Cheese
Eggs
The foods highest in protein are the meats, poultry and seafood - basically any non-plant foods. But if you are contemplating a low carb diet you should not eat only animal based foods and there are plenty of low carb fruits, vegetables and specially prepared packaged foods including

! For optimum health, your body needs lots of fruits and veggies and stick to the high protein low fat foods.
When contemplating any change in eating habits, please consult your doctor. It is best to stick to a well balanced diet - it might seem like fun to eat bacon and eggs all day but that is not healthy and your body will eventually suffer. The best foods for you are organic and natural foods - they may cost a bit more but your health is worth it! You can buy many low carb / high protein foods that are organic as well as fresh vegetables and fruits.
