Low Carb Cereal Food Review
South Beach Diet™: Eat your way thin!
This low carb cereal food review will give you the real scoop on what low carb breakfast cereals really taste like. I’ve taste tested all of these myself and conned my friends and family into tasting some of them too! Real food taste tests by real people.
I eat cereal almost every day for breakfast, it is a great source of fiber and protein. Some of the cereals are also loaded with vitamins and minerals!
I have taste tested every low carb cereal listed below and rated them on a scale from 1 to 5 (using the cereal bowl icon) with 1 being the worst tasting and 5 being the best. |
Special K For a Low Carb lifestyle - I picked this up at the supermarket recently and am quite impressed! It has 9g net carbs per 3/4 cup serving so you can't pig out on it or you would have way too many carbs, but it tastes great (I even like it better than regular Special K). It' s made with wheat ran, soy grits, rice and a bazillion other ingredients and has a sweet nutty taste. It's also got 10g protein, 5g fiber and a slew of vitamins and minerals.
Flax-O-Meal Vanilla Almond - I love this cereal and eat it (or the butter pecan flavor) every morning for breakfast! It has the consistency of grits and is made with real almonds and with flax seed meal which is supposed to be very good for you and has 10g fiber per serving. This low carb cereal has 2g net carbs, 11g protein, 143 calories and 11g fat.
Flax-O-Meal Butter Pecan - This is a yummy cereal with the consistency of grits and tastes great. This has 2g net carbs, 11g protein, 143 calories and 11g fat.
Keto Apple Cinnamon Hot Low Carb Cereal
- Tastes pretty good but has some hard lumps in it which put me off a bit. This cereal has 3g net carbs (9g fiber), 17g protein, 150 calories, 4g fat and is loaded with vitamins and minerals.
Keto Hot Cereal Banana Nut
- Has a fake banana taste and hard lumps - just “OK” in my book. This low carb cereal has 3g net carbs (9g fiber), 17g protein, 150 calories, 4g fat and is loaded with vitamins and minerals.
