Workout routines for women are designed to get results that women want. The basic human body does not differ vastly between men and women particularly in the skeletal and muscle structure. However men and women tend to have different workout goals, which means that they will use different workout programs. Women also may need to vary their workout if they are pregnant or have any other medical issues.

Men tend to focus more on bodybuilding then women. Most women do not want to appear overly muscular. Instead they want to tone the muscle they have to achieve that lean look. This will mean that the repetitions, weight used and speed of weight training exercises will differ then for those that are strictly interested in building muscle.

For muscles to be toned they will need to feel resistance so using the correct weight, not too much and not too little, is important when desigining workout routines for women. Women will also want to work their muscles n different ways.

It is recommended that to lose weight and tone muscles that in the course of a week a woman should do 3 days of weight training with 2 days of cardio and 2 days to recover. For those that are interested in losing weight fast then you can increase the number of weight training days to four and only have one day during the week to recover. If you are interested in working specific muscle groups then you can do 5 days of weight training working only certain muscle groups each day.

To lose the most fat possible it is recommended that women workout in the mornings as this keeps your metabolism high all day long. However if you can only exercise in the evening then do it. The important fact is that you are exercising. You need to make sure you have some energy to get your through the workout so eating some fruit and drinking water before your workout is needed. To get the most from your workout a circuit training program is best, as this will keep your heart rate elevated.
